The five best work from home productivity tips. Are you working from home right now?
Are you looking to get some more productivity are you finding a lot of challenges and distractions working from home?
Many people are working from home right now but they're finding. It really difficult to eliminate those distractions which are so easy to fall into when you're working from home.
I want to give you my five best work from home productivity tips.
There's a lot of talk about working from home and it's very important that if you have to work and you got to work from home what are you gonna do.
When you go into the office it's very simple, they expect you to be there at a certain time and you show up and you do your work.
And then you go home at a certain time but when you work from home there's no one there watching.
So, the best thing about working from home they say you do whatever you want whatever you want.
The worst thing about working from home is that you can do whatever you want whenever you want.
It's very easy to get caught up in the infinite distractions that we all have today so you've got to set and create and stick to a schedule.
One of the most important things to do is get yourself ready to do the work.
You've got to set boundaries with the people that are in your home whether it's your spouse, kids, pets whatever it is you've got to be able to set and keep boundaries.
So very simply you need to have a space a workspace where you can actually get work done where you can focus and actually get your work done.
And the number one cause of distractions is interruptions from other people the interruptions from people in your home, your spouse, your kids and so on.
So, you've got to be able to say to the people in your home...
Hey listen during this time I've got to work I've got to focus and please don't disturb me unless the house is burning down unless you know somebody fell and broke their leg or whatever it is.
I just have to have this time to be able to focus.
NMUI is something that I teach my $50,000 coaching clients and it stands for Ninety Minute Uninterrupted Intervals.
Many studies have shown that the human being is able to focus have really good strong focus for about 90 minutes at a time.
And after that you’re your attention tends to wander and you find yourself checking social media and looking on Netflix or whatever it might be.
it's very natural and so the point is you don't want to fight it you want to work with it.
So, what I do is I just say...
For the next 90 minutes I'm focused on this task I'm focused on this thing that I've got to do.
And then after 90 minutes I just stop I get up I physically get up and walk away from my computer and stretch.
Maybe do some yoga exercise have a drink of water have a healthy snack whatever it might be.
Talk with your spouse, your kids, play with the dog and then you go back to work and you work in another 90-minute interval.
When you do it that way you can work in about four, five- or ninety-minute intervals per day and you can get a lot more done than if you're constantly being distracted.
For example, you want to have a nice comfortable chair that you're working because you're sitting unless you're standing.
And then you need to invest in comfort shoes if you're doing a standing desk that's fine whatever it is.
You look this is where you're working this is your work-space so make it work for you.
One of my favorite things to use is this Logitech it's called the Logitech Ergonomic Mouse.
And also, an ergonomic keyboard, chair and so forth and also you want to make sure you invest in a nice big computer screen because you're gonna be staring at it for a long time.
Now as we're working from home as we're working remotely to just basically never stop working.
You take your phone to bed you're working on your laptop while you're in bed with your spouse or whatever it might be.
I'd say that's a terrible idea I want you to shut off work just like I said when you go into the office you go in your work and you leave.
And you come home well now that you're home you're never not working but you've got to be able to set those boundaries that goes back to the setting boundaries that I was talking about.
So, you definitely want to make sure that you're done. What I like to do is when I'm done with work about five to six o'clock, I know I'm not working 18 hours a day.
I'd be a hypocrite if I was working 18 to 20 hours a day.
No, I work you know about 7 to 8 hours a day and I don't work that hard I take these 90-minute uninterrupted intervals or I work in them.
And then I take lots of breaks what I call gold free zones and I talk about my books.
But you know I just don't work that hard and I get a lot done and I'm making a lot of money and having a lot of fun and reaching a lot of great people like you.
It's not about hustling it's not about working all day and night I know there's plenty of teachers who teach that.
Nice for them but that's not the life I want to live I want to live a Freedom Lifestyle where I have the time, energy, relationships and the money that I really want without working so hard.
What I suggest set those boundaries follow these instructions and I think you'll find that your productivity really goes up and goes through the roof.
