Marie Osmond Reveals the Reason Why She Remarried Her Ex-Husband Stephen Craig

The Talk co-host tied the knot with him again 26 years after their divorce.

Marie Osmond has been a household name for decades. Best known for being part of the Osmond family in the 1960s, her talent eventually led to her starring alongside her brother Donny Osmond in their 1970s TV variety program, Donny & Marie. While she rose to fame as a TV personality and country singer, Marie fell in love with her husband, Stephen Craig, who she ended up marrying twice.

Marie met the former pro-basketball player when she was a teenager. At the age of 22, The Talk co-host married Stephen for the first time on June 26, 1982 in front of 4,000 guests. Less than a year later, on April 20, 1983, the couple welcomed a son named Stephen James Craig.

Years later, People reports that Marie found herself at a crossroads between her personal life and career. It all came to a head in October 1985 when she and Stephen filed for divorce.

After going their separate ways, Marie married music producer Brian Blosil in October 1986. Together, they had a family of seven children — two biological and five adopted. In March 2007, Marie and Brian announced their divorce. Although both claimed it was no one’s fault, she later told People that she “never wanted to be married again.”

But fate had another plan in mind. The Utah native found herself crossing paths with Stephen again. The Behind the Smile author unexpectedly reconnected with him through their son. She shared with Good Morning America that she actually kept her rekindled relationship with Stephen a secret during their two years of dating.

"I didn't want anybody to get hurt, you know, if it didn't work out. And gosh, it just worked out," she said on the show in 2011. As for their decision to get remarried, the two have their son to thank for that.

“Stephen was getting married and we [realized] we can’t go to our son’s wedding and not be married,” Marie told People. “So we got married a few months before he did. He joked that he never thought it would happen, but it did!”

The “Paper Roses” singer remarried Stephen on May 4, 2011 in an intimate ceremony in Las Vegas. Twenty-nine years after first exchanging vows, Marie wore the same dress from their first wedding and made it official.

“The thing about a second marriage is that you realize things you thought were so important, aren’t,” she told the outlet. “I love being with my husband. He is the sweetest man I know. He lives to serve and really listens to people’s needs.”

Fast forward nine years, and the duo is still going strong.
