Compared to young ones, who got a whole life ahead of them, i guess older people have trouble disengaging from their past because either they reminisce some good memories or regret for lost opportunities. just my personal opinion…

Past vanishes away with time it seems, but regrets from long ago seems tough to detach from…when you say letting go of the past, does it only pertains to bad past memories or the good happy remembrance as well ?

How can i commit to letting go when the past was just too painful to forget ? I know my past is breaking my future. I’m stucked and only have myself to blame but i want to disconnect myself from this dreadful cycle but how…what should be the first step to take ?????

It’s important to break the pattern of dwelling on past mistakes…it caused my best friend tremendous depression and eventually took his own life. Dwelling exceedingly on the past is dwelling on danger.
