How to Get Self-Confidence and Believe in Yourself, Part 1

Hey there, it's Noah St. John, and today I want to tackle something vital—it's the linchpin to success, whether it's in your personal life or your career: self-confidence.

In this discussion, let's break down what self-confidence truly means, what sparks it, and more importantly, how to cultivate an unwavering sense of self-assurance that propels you towards your goals.

Understanding Self-Confidence

Self-confidence boils down to one thing: the belief that you can achieve what you set out to do. For most folks, lurking in their subconscious is a belief summed up in two words: "I can't." It's the barrier that whispers, "I can't lose weight, make more money, start that online business, or meet the person of my dreams." It's this subconscious belief that holds us back, residing deep within our minds like the unseen bulk of an iceberg.

The trouble is, even if we consciously feed our minds positive affirmations or set ambitious goals if that subconscious belief of "I can't" persists, our efforts often lead to naught.

The Self-Confidence Cycle: Belief, Action, and Results

Picture this cycle: it all begins with belief. Either you believe you can or you believe you can't. If it's the latter, it's a roadblock. A lack of belief translates to no action. And guess what? No action leads to undesired outcomes—falling short of your goals, dreams, and aspirations. It's what I call the "downward death spiral."

On the flip side, when you believe in yourself, take action, and achieve positive results, it's a catalyst. Each success boosts your self-belief, prompting more action and better outcomes—a fulfilling journey upward, the "upward success spiral."

Dealing with Undesired Results

But what happens when your belief leads to action, yet the outcome falls short of what you desired? Here's the thing: it all hinges on that moment of decision. Through my 30 years of studying successful individuals worldwide, I've found a key differentiator—some persevere until they achieve their desired outcome, while others throw in the towel at the first setback.

Let me illustrate this with a recent family experience. My wife, already in great shape, decided to enlist a personal trainer. Curious, I asked her why she sought training when she already knew the exercises. Her answer held the secret to why some people persist despite initial setbacks.

Now, I won't spill the beans just yet. In our next discussion, I'll unveil her response. But here's your chance: drop a comment below and guess what makes a personal trainer effective in such situations. It's not merely about exercises—it's something deeper. Share your thoughts!

Unleashing Your Full Potential

Let's segue to coaching—a realm that's evolved beyond athletics into various facets of life. From life coaches to business coaches, what distinguishes a great coach from a good one? Think about it and jot down your thoughts below.

These concepts—perseverance in the face of setbacks and the traits of a great coach—tie into the essence of self-confidence. In our upcoming video, I'll unveil strategies to foster unshakeable self-confidence in both personal and professional realms, empowering you to surmount obstacles and materialize your aspirations.

See you soon! This is Noah St. John, eager to witness your success story.
