Circle of Influence (Video)

Where do you focus most of your time and energy?

We each have a wide range of concerns – our health, our children, problems at work, the national debt…

We could call that the Circle of Concern.

    Hello Noah,

Stephen Covey obviously had an immense amount of influence on you and through you on the lives of those you had the fortunate to lead. Wonder if you had the chance to meet him in person ?

I did interview him when I was in college in 1996.

The people that i surround myself with on a daily basis are my circle of influence and can have an enduring impact on my life, as i am to them. They can reshape my approach to life, lift me up to a higher level BUT can pull me down as well so i need to be careful and be selective of who i allow in my inner circle.

But what are the steps to be taken if we have someone in our circle who is a negative influence that we need to eliminate ?

Start by limiting the time you spend with that person. Then bring on new people who will lift you up.

In my field of work, we’re encouraged to dream outside of our circles of influence. We are ambitious dreamer, and we love to work to broaden our circles rather than accept them. Nevertheless, I would love to work in the path of identifying my own influence and leveraging it comprehensively.
